STEMME HORIZONS 2017
ABOVE IT ALL - Once again, Stemme owners and interested pilots went on an unforgettable journey with our unique sports aircraft.
In total, seven Stemme started the adventure in Strausberg, where our headquarter is located right next to the airfield EDAY. The first stage took the group halfway through the Alps to Lienz, Austria. For one night we enjoyed the comfort and service at the Grandhotel Lienz.
On the next morning we took off to Croatia with its stunning landscapes. Everyone was looking forward to enjoy the breath-taking view on the many islands scattering the coastline, dramatic mountains and natural wilderness. The adventure was right in front of us. On the following days the pilots discovered some of the extraordinary gliding hot spots in the mountains of Croatia. Back on the ground the group was indulged with culinary delights and the pleasant comfort of the Design Hotel Navis in Opatija. Unfortunately, the weather crossed our plans to travel down to the south of Croatia for an evening with local dishes and a day of flying in Croatia’s No 1 gliding hot spot. Our back-up plan?
Venice – here we come! The group started for a one-day flying trip form Grobnik, Croatia, to Lido, Venice, Italy. Though the world-famous lagoon is not known for its great thermals, but for its very own atmosphere, spirit and landscape – especially from above.
After two wonderful days in Italy including a night out in Venice, our participants left happy and enriched with a bunch of new impressions, new friends and unforgettable flying experiences.
A last stop-over in Innsbruck, Austria, ensured a relaxed journey home.
We would like to thank all our participants, the airports in Lienz (LOKL), Grobnik (LDRG), Lido (LIPV) and Innsbruck (LOWI) as well as the Grandhotel Lienz, the Design Hotel Navis, the Victoria Palace Hotel and the Hotel Penz West. Furthermore, we would like to express our special gratitude to the family Kulic, who invited us so warmly and prepared a wonderful evening in Sinj, which we unfortunately couldn’t attend due to bad weather. Also thanks to Hotel Alkar in Sinj. They prepared everything for us and were more than cooperative when we had to cancel our stay.
